Wholistic - About Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind in which your body is relaxed, while your mind is focused. It is a state of heightened suggestibility and receptivity.

You experience hypnosis every day, just before falling asleep, upon awakening, when you are daydreaming, becoming immersed in a good book or movie, or anytime your mind is focused on some inner experience that the external environment begins to fade away.

What is self-hypnosis?
Self hypnosis means that you make positive suggestions to yourself while your mind is in a highly suggestible state. In self-hypnosis, constructive and helpful thoughts are placed in your subconscious mind by you and no one else! You are the one that drives your desire to change.

*All hypnosis is self-hypnosis*

Is hypnosis safe?
Hypnosis is completely safe and natural.

Can anyone be hypnotized?
Anyone of normal intelligence and willing to go into hypnosis can be hypnotized

What's the difference between "Clinical" vs. "Stage" hypnosis?
Hypnosis performed in a clinical setting is quite different from that of the stage hypnosis shows you may have seen on tv, in the movies, nightclubs, cruises etc... Stage hypnosis is typically performed for entertainment purposes to make others laugh. Clinical Hypnosis is practiced solely for the purpose of helping you with achieving your goals and making positive changes.

Does hypnosis really work?
Absolutely! If you are ready to make lasting changes and improve the quality of your life, then it will definitely work for you.

Are you asleep when you’re in hypnosis?
Hypnosis is not sleep. When you are asleep your attention is diffused, when hypnotized, your attention is focused.

Can I get stuck in hypnosis?
No you cannot get "stuck" in hypnosis. The subconscious is aware at all times and can bring your mind back to a conscious state at any time you wish. You will naturally open your eyes and become fully alert. No one can keep you in hypnosis against your will.

And how does it feel to be hypnotized?
It feels great! While in the state of hypnosis you feel wonderfully relaxed, focused and aware at all times. You may also experience different sensations in your body. You awake from hypnosis feeling refreshed, energized, clear, and positive about the changes you have chosen to make.

What happens during a session?
During the first session we discuss your personal situation, history and the goals you wish to acheive. After the initial intake you’re gently hypnotized to the level of trance you wish to experience making long lasting, positive changes. You are also taught simple self-hypnosis techniques to further enforce those changes in your life in between or after your sessions. You always emerge out of hynosis feeling magnificent in every way!

*All sessions are strictly confidential*

Are there any side effects from hypnosis?
There’s no negative side effects from hypnosis only positive ones! Clients often state that they feel more relaxed and energized after a session and they sleep better. Their new habits seem "easy" and "effortless" after hypnosis.

Will I loose control or give my secrets away while in hypnosis?
No. You will not say anything that you don’t want to say or give your secrets away. You are always in control when you’re under hypnosis and how deep you allow yourself to experience your hypnotic state.

How quickly will I experience results from hypnosis?
How quickly do you WANT to see results? If your motivation and commitment level is HIGH, you'll experience positive results right away! You're either ready to make changes or you're not. It is your choice.

How many sessions do I need?
The number of sessions varies from person to person.

Is individual hypnosis different from group hypnosis?
In a group hypnosis setting, the hypnotist generalizes hypnotic suggestions to ensure everyone benefits from the session. Hypnosis performed one on one, allows the hypnotist to personalize specific suggestions according to the client’s particular issues and preferences.

How does the mind exactly work?
Here's a brief description:

Your Conscious mind is the part of mind of which you are aware most of the time. It is logical, judgmental, analytical and critical. It is the part of your mind that controls your deliberate actions such as organizing your schedule, remembering phone numbers, reasoning and providing critical evaluations

The Subconscious mind is responsible for running our bodies, and is also the storehouse of memories; everything that ever happens to us is recorded into the unconscious where it can be accessed whenever it is needed. The subconscious often protects the conscious mind by keeping from it the things that it does not need to know or cannot deal with. It can also create exactly that which it is commanded to create for you in your life.

The conscious and unconscious minds work together to create and animate the whole personality. Hypnosis can directly access the unconscious mind and all its resources, bypassing the conscious mind. The human mind is incredibly creative and anything you can imagine when you are in a trance you can make happen in reality. People create their own limitations like prisons in their minds, but they can also create the keys that open the locked doors and discover their own inner sources of power and wisdom that enriches their lives.
